Bishop Adrian Starks, a man of God who considers it most important that you know that he loves the Lord and the Word of God, he says that everything else is less important. Raised in a home where Christ was exalted (in Brooklyn, New York) was the starting point of his spiritual formation. Over time, his biblical worldview was developed and became clarified and stronger.
Today, he teaches and preaches around the world, embracing his role to advance the Gospel message and make Jesus Christ known. He is a visionary who rarely just sees the “here and now,” but is ever seeking the counsel of Holy Spirit who makes known many things to come. Starks finds great joy in expounding on the relevance of God’s Word for today.
Bishop Starks sensitizes mankind according to the purposes of God found in scripture. He does so without looking at gender, race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic positioning. Paramount to his calling is to effect positive change and to restore hope in humanity.
He has studied at North Carolina A&T State University, Regent University, and Wake Forest University. He is an author, songwriter, and vocalist who gives all praise and thanks to God for every gift given to him.
He serves on the Executive Board as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Jabula International under the Apostolic covering of Bishop Tudor Bismark and the Presiding Bishop, Bishop Hugh D. Smith, Jr.
In addition to serving on numerous other boards in the local community, he is committed to being an advocate for the marginalized and disenfranchised within this region of the Carolinas.
Bishop Starks is married to the former Shandi Barksdale, and to this union, they have five beautiful daughters – Kristen Simone, Sydney Nicole, Carmen Danielle, Courtney Noelle, and Victoria Janae.
Pastor Shandi Starks, believes that God has a plan designed specifically for you and that He cares about everything that you do. It is with this understanding that she governs herself in both secular and religious settings. Thereby, she employs, with calculated personal application, the essence of the Biblical truth found in Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” Together with her husband, Adrian Starks who is the Senior Pastor of World Victory International Christian Center. She was led from her youth as she and her family were following Christ in the Episcopal tradition. As the Lord has increased her personally, in ministry and in business, she continues to be a disciple and to disciple others. Her heart’s desire is to see people walk in ultimate freedom and victory over the limiting forces of life.
She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from the School of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University and she blesses not only World Victory International Christian Center, but the body of Christ with her talent in the business arena. She is the proud mother of five beautiful daughters Kristen Simone, Sydney Nicole, Carmen Danielle, Courtney Noelle, and Victoria Janae. “Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.” Pastor Shandi epitomizes the virtuous woman in present day. She is a worshiper to the core, who must have the presence of God. She desires to share the joy and safety of His presence with whom she meets.
